What I did so far, what I hope to do
I worked as a Product Manager for more than 20 years. When I started “working on the internet” as my mom called it, we experienced websites via Netscape 2.0 If you have never heard about it, ask Claude or the AI of your choice.
When I took my first big job, to build and manage the first web site of Israel Open University, my best friend, who started working as an editor in Haaretz news paper days after graduating from Uni, said it was a role fit for a student. Obviously, she was wrong. The length and full details of my career are on linkedin so I won't repeat them here. Trust me on that (long, good career), or go check yourself.
Since then I’ve been a hands-on product manager at startups, hypergrowth and big companies, launching and managing successful web and mobile products. Recently I've focused on dealing with real world problems, bringing clarity and alignment to the messy spot where regulation meets human behavior. Examples: helping municipalities understand and optimize parking patterns in the city with EasyPark (now Arrive), and helping German users successfully submit their tax returns and secure accurate refunds with Taxfix. Outside of my formal work I've mentored product managers (multiple cycles with Product League and Give & Tech, primarily women).
Now
Right now I am not working. By choice. Throughout my career I took multiple periods of time off and dedicated myself to other things I love doing. I think it’s one of the benefits, or better yet, a privilege, of working in this field. One can take time off, if that is what one wants. I am, however, slowly and calmly looking for what's next for me. I hope my next role will be on a product and at a company that is doing something good in this world: solving real problems, making something hard and complex more accessible, connecting, helping, adding real value to our users, and of course, to the company. With a user-first frame of mind.
Mentoring
I offer one-on-one mentoring for Product Managers.
Over the years I've also mentored Product Managers through Product League and Give & Tech, primarily women. TThe results have been great: many of my mentees have changed jobs, moved into more senior roles, or simply grown more confident and effective in their work.
I can help with things like:
- thinking through a product flow, goals, users, metrics
- product strategy, discovery, prioritisation and roadmaps
- working with stakeholders, navigating the human complexity
- dealing with feedback, conflict or a challenging manager
- or simply having someone experienced to talk product with
And it doesn't have to be about solving a specific problem. Sometimes you just need a space to think out loud, talk shop, vent a little, and figure out what to do next.
